LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Governor of California Jerry Brown had surgery to remove a cancerous growth from his nose, his Office, said Saturday.
Growth has been removed under local anesthesia, Friday after tests revealed the presence of basal cell carcinoma, Brown's Office said in a statement.
All cancerous cells have been removed, but some reconstructive surgery to Brown nose was necessary because of the procedure, he said.
Brown, a 73-year-old Democrat, is at home and the conduct of the Affairs of the State.
His Office said he would be not the State of the Democratic Convention in Sacramento over the weekend and would ignore public events until sutures have been removed.
