CHICAGO - new research suggests that several U.S. babies are fed supplements herbal or teas.
Researchers at the Food and Drug Administration has led to the study. He was released Monday in the journal Pediatrics and is billed as the first to study the wide use of these products in us infants.
About 9% studied had fed supplements at least once. 2005-2007 Study mothers white oversampling, therefore authors say that the true national prevalence is probably between 3% and 10%. Approximately 2 600 mothers were interviewed.
Gripe water colic tea and Chamomile were the most common products, but many others were used for reasons, including problems irritability and digestive. Side effects were not examined.
Supplements are not strictly regulated. The authors say there is a risk of harm, and the grape variety means that probably some were dangerous.
